Living in the USA, I can't see any rational reason you'd want to go over the 130-mph limit. Your acceleration to that speed would be the same regardless.
Living in Europe, especially Germany, yes, maybe. But, if your tires are not suitable, you risk a really bad end result! Bad stuff can happen very quickly, and most people are not prepared for it or safe doing it.
