The Captain's Chairs offer a TON of legroom in the 2nd Row and ample legroom in the 3rd, so if the bench offers more it's not necessary.
You only get the bench if you need a 7th passenger or lie-flat storage. If you've got fewer than 7 passengers and don't use your $100,000 luxury car as a truck, you get the Captain's.
