They are a PITA for sure. I just dropped the top portion of the bumper (the biggest challenge was getting to the RT/LT bumper brackets under the headlamps) pulled it forward and replaced them.
All in all took about 45 minutes so the moral of the story is there is really no easy way to do it - unless of course you order it as a port installed option.
