for me the clunkiness comes from 1st gear switching to 2nd if the rpm is around 2000rpm.
And i have also notice the rpm drop is different no matter how fast i shift nor my golden left foot clutching in. 1->2 [ 1200rpm drop at least ] 2->3 [ 1000rpm drop ] 3->4 [ lower rpm drop] and goes on, you get the idea.
And i think the 1200rpm drop creates the clunkiness to the clutch imo.
