The V-6 and V-8 cars used a very simple system until the advent of turbocharging (then again, does a BMW 540i have a 4-liter engine?
)
206 - 2-liter V-6
246 - 2.4 liter V-6
208 - 2.0 liter V-8 (Italy only, I believe)
308 - 3.0 liter V-8
328 - 3.2 liter V-8
348 - 3.4 liter V-8
355 - 3.5 liter V-8 with 5 valves per cylinder (oops)
360 - 3.6 liter V-8 (NOT with zero cylinders!)
430 - 4.3 liter V-8
458 - 4.5 liter V8 (a return to sanity)
488 - 3.9 liter V-8 turbo (a departure from sanity)
F8 - 3.9 liter V-8 Turbo (a new system)
The front-engine V-8 cars all have names (California, Portofino and Roma); as with the mid-engine V-8s, Ferrari seems to have settled on the 3.9 liter V-8 turbo here as well.
