They changed that part of the programming. The mz4 no longer immediately remaps the throttle curve if your foot is on the throttle. You have to lift your foot completely off and then the map will change.

They did it to stop exactly what you're talking about (which is what I always did to my friends when they drove my m3 lol) when your just cruising along at constant throttle and the sport button is pushed and you get a sudden burst of speed. It was especially difficult to drive when someone would constantly press the button haha!

Your car is fine it's just BMW fine tuning the sport button operation.

Btw if you want to make sure it works have a friend drive and when they aren't paying attention at a stop light flip sport on and watch them rev the nuts off trying to get the car away from the line... Then just stare at them with a "WTF!!!! Dude" look.
