I would have gone the way you did with the 35i as well even if I had the choice for a 35d. Overtaking with the 8-speed is effortless and the sound always makes me grin.
I posted the duel site because OP's title said
X4 35d vs 35i. Regardless, the 35i and 35d are pretty amazing.
