If so, here is my take. The LL14FE 0W-20 came along with the B series engines. New with the B series engines is connecting rod bearings with the upper half different material from the lower half. This seems to be in concert with the lighter viscosity oil 0W-20.
So it seems the N series engine should stick with the oil weight originally specified for best engine (rod bearing) life.
My hunch comes from being in the oil business for 40 years.

That is good feedback. According to foremen and SAs, post-LCI N20(e.g. 320i) gets 0w20 from factory(pre-LCI was 0w30), while the N26 still gets 0w30.
