I think Ferrari had pushed their cars too hard to keep up with the Mercedes during the first half of the season. Now reliability had caught up with them, and they had ran out of allocation.

Alonso was a cock-blocker. Even if Max couldn't overtake Hamilton, at least there's some tense moment.
Don't forget about Australia 2014 w/HAM and the mystery cracked spark plug wire. Dominated the entire weekend and then come race day, no power.
