With cars like the new GTI saving ~100-200 lbs, it would be nice if BMW did the same.
I believe the F20 1 series weigh a bit more than E87 (like 50-100 lbs) : (

I think you answered your own question. Just as the F20 is slightly heavier than the E87, I'd assume the F22 will be slightly heavier than the E82. BMW hasn't really put much effort into making their cars lighter yet.
