I understand that not everyone has multiple cars to choose from for different duties, but then again they probably aren't the target market that Tesla are going for with a $110,000 - 120,000 car.

$110,000 for a car with a 270 mile range and takes hours to recharge...
I like that companies like Tesla are trying to innovate, but I think companies like BMW and Chevy have a much better approach to the electric car:
Hybrid cars with gasoline and electric motors.
These cars are still saving the environment from a lot of CO2 emissions but with a lot more practicality in terms of driving range, cost, and refueling times.
