As such can be polished rather easily. But with vintage some prefer honest character as opposed to the sterility of a new boring watch. Value is in the originality. That thing cleaned up nice! From a guy who loves and appreciates watches but can't go in as deep financially as I would like at the moment, that's a nice damn piece. Also agree on the patina and character.
