The main thing is what cause the tech wants to pop all the covers to find out what has done physically to the ECU. I think it should a mind factor instead...things like if he sees a mod...intake...exhaust...or even when he steps on the gas and feel the car is unusually fast...then he would be interested on looking further into the ECU...

anyway that's just what I think
