It appears BMW is trending towards the efficiency of its engines so much so that even SOUND is a form of LOST energy. There is a cost to create an enticing engine note (resonators, etc), but the direction is towards these diesel sounding turbo-blocks, which is NOT the typical sounds we expect from BMW. They will continue to move towards reducing ALL engine energy waste. My larger question is: at what point does adding these "faux features" impact the brand negativly to which the brand is no longer represented by its real traits, but enhancements to "remember" its legacy?
