people I know and trust, that are professional BMW mechanics, told me that it's 50/50 that the cover breaks upon removal and reinstallation.

now, they also told me to only buy a BMW cover, but I couldn't stomach the price so I went with the uro piece.

so far it has not bitten me in the ass.

if I were paying shop labor rates for the work I would probably spend the extra 2 bills on the OE part, because the labor costs to do it over again would be substantially more.

for the DIY'er, the URO piece seems to be fine.
