I got a sheetmetal screw in my tire and it is too close to the sidewall to patch. $300 for the tire replacement ++ (mounting/balancing/etc..) so close to $400 with taxes. I was only able to get it from BMW as none of the tire shops around me could get it. Although the dealer is only $20 more than tirerack.com so not too bad.

I am glad I got the compact spare though! I wish they offered a full size spare.
Call the dealer and tell them that you know there's a road hazard warranty from tire manufacturer. I had the same problem and they replaced mine for $50
You're lucky! Over the years, had side nails on BMW, Mercedes and PORSCHE (felt like side nail was a scam but none of the the dealers ever agreed to change them under road hazard warranty from manufacturer.
