Valentine 1 and Savvy connection

FYI.

The SAVVY connection module for the V1 triggers the car alarm. I was reading the manual today and came across the alarm functions and one cause for tripping it is if something tries to access the diagnostic port. Thus confirmed when I used the V1 with SAVVY.

The SAVVY connects to the diagnostic port and allows switched power to the radar detector as well as reading the vehicle speed for auto-mute.

I was trying to figure out another issue with it and the car after speaking with Valentine by phone. The laser detector gets triggered by the cars displays, so may have to turn off the laser detector in the unit.

It does not appear to be trigger by the cars radar systems as I first thought. The laser is mainly the rear laser detector being triggers. Valentine Help recommends just putting tape over the rear sensor and leaving the front active rather than electronically turn off the laser detection.

Now I will have to find another switched power tap and abandon the SAVVY.

I'll research it further, maybe there is a work around for the alarm issue.
