Probably nothing anyone at the dealer will understand given the various software related discussions/experiences on this board.
I had a fault with my Mondeo which manifested as a hissing sound through the speakers (regardless of whether any audio was being played) The car was off the road for 3 weeks (!!) until they fixed it. Turned out some unit responsible for central locking and electric windows was causing noise on the comms bus which also carried the audio. They didn't have a clue and replaced all kinds of things before solving it (new amp, new head unit, speakers, wiring etc)
BMW need to set up a proper technical support helpline rather than relying on their dealers. Changing the oil and replacing brake pads has little in common with diagnosing computer faults or glitches...
Having someone "official" on this kind of forum actively supporting us when we have problems would be another good step. Companies like Microsoft have been doing this for years...
