Yes, definitely scary stuff. The one I posted about above, the Whittier quake in 1987; my daughter was in kindergarten class when it hit and her classroom had big glass windows which scared me.

I was working nearby and immediately left work and went to her school. She was okay and the class had evacuated to a safe location. You always worry about your family more than yourself, especially your kids.
