Just been involved in accident and would appreciate some advice...

Hi Chaps,

I'll try and keep this brief so as not to bore you with the details and would appreciate any advice you can give.

I've just been involved in an accident involving my car and a Polish lorry (LHD). The incident happened in slow moving traffic (5-10mph tops). All 3 lanes chock full of traffic. I was in L2 and the lorry was in L1.

As I was passing his cab this chap has obviously decided to change lanes without checking his blind spots properly and the front right corner of his cab has made contact with the rear left corner of my car. This has dented my rear quarter body panel and scuffed the rear bumper.

He didn't speak English so HATOs attended the scene and extracted his various details. The Polish driver had a green card for insurance etc and I also have a witness.

How should I proceed? Do I need to put this through my own insurance company or should I get a claim management company involved?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
