I've run with 1/8th - 1/16th inch of clearance between the tire and the strut, and never had a problem at the track as far as inner sidewall of the tire deforming and making contact with the strut. You could always run a larger spacer if it ever becomes an issue, but I would rather change the wheels to a different offset.
