Coilover vs winter

Hi,

I was running Kw on my E90 and wanted to go the same route for my F30.
But I got an awesome deal on the H&R coilover.

I live in Montreal Canada and get plenty of snow in the winter and also a lot of salt on the roads.

I heard people spray the coilover to prevent rust.

what's your opinion on this and what stuff to use. Tried to google it but found answers on Rsx, audi and suby forum which are sometimes a bit basic and BS.
Right now I think I'll just remove them, it's a PITA but with a minimum height of 1.3 I think i'll need the extra 1.3 to clear the snow storms like we had this week. We get 4-5 12inch snow storm a year.

*can't wait that summer comes back to drop the car.
