I believe it is the same DCT like in the M3. Some features (Launch Control) will probably be missing.
Yes it has shorter ratios and zero delay between shift resulting in faster acceleration.

in 0:21, 0:46, 1:07, 1:49, 2:07 and 2:11.
You can hear the shift are instantaneous. Shifts sound rough like F1 car shifting.
