Stock for stock, they're very close. The 1er is a tad quicker in a straight line, but the STi handles a little better because of it's super-sticky factory tires.
Upgrade the tires on the 1er and it'll hang with, if not beat, the STi around a track. But the STi is AWD so it's no fun at all (see my sig :biggrin: )
