Good eye. The following chart shows how much luxury SUVs are impacting on luxury sedans so there is possible placements. The 7er is out of the question though, BMW won't manufacture its flagship out with Germany.

1. BMW X8 - Not to be ruled out because of the introduction of the X7. There could yet be further additional demand for a larger Sport Activity Coupe.

2. BMW X1/X2, MINI Countryman/PACEMAN - Ruled out as North American production will be sired through a new facility in Araquari , Brazil.

3. BMW K series - new niche proposal under discussion for the 3er portfolio.

Half X sport Activity Vehicle and Sport Activity Coupe.

With the BMW X3 there is potential for a further model , especially for those that need extended flexibility but still crave dynamic looks like a Sport Activity Coupe. Internally known as Xsport the idea is to offer a slightly longer wheelbase incorporating extra seats but with a more dynamic roof line towards the rear and rising glasshouse to offer increased sportiness and more flexibility.

Such a model is considered for the US market and those who have extra flexibility needs. If you look at how the Range Rover Sport fits with the Range Rover you can understand the same with the K series.
K series?

Is this something special?
