I've been experimenting with the Park Distance Control as a means of protecting the front spoiler. If I turn it on just as I am entering a parking space with a curb/cement bumper ahead, the sensor will start beeping well in advance. If I turn on the Park Distance Control while I am very close to the curb/cement bumper, it will not start beeping. So if you turn it on well in advance, it helps by telling you the curb/cement bumper is ahead.
