H&R Anti-Roll Bars Installation ++-
Springs = installed
Front Sway Bar = installed
Rear Sway Bar = unable to install
Went to F1 Motorsports to have my H&R Sport Springs and H&R Sway Bar set installed. The springs were no problem, nor was the front stabilizer bar. However, despite a good effort F1 could not remove the factory rear sway bar. This is a company that has installed sway bars routinely on e46s, which are reportedly very easy to work with.
I too have installed sway bars on several cars, but the tortuous path of the rear anti-roll bar had me stumped as well. I have a feeling that the rear axle may have to be dropped along with part of the chassis to access the rear bar. BMW Service was not very helpful as they suggested to just "twist and work it." I doubt their service personnel have ever tried to remove one of these on the e90.
Needless to say, only the springs and front sway bars were installed. The factory one remains at the rear.
