Also keep in mind transmission. A 2-pedal M4 will at least have DCT, whereas a 2-pedal 997.1 TT has a Mercedes torque converter. It's a decent automatic, but still. 997 Turbo didn't go PDK until 997.2 and MY2010.

If you're looking for 3 pedals, I think 997.1 turbo is a reliable way to go fast. Problem areas are well documented and fixes aren't terribly costly. Maintenance is oil and brakes, provided the previous owners and you drive like sane people. I wouldn't sweat PCCB, as iron rotor retrofits are widely available. Whether you're ok with owning a used car with potentially unknown service history and no factory warranty is a question only you can decide.
