There's no value in posts which seek to judge how we should "feel" about the issue - that's a personal thing. This thread is about finding a fix not evaluating feelings.
This has been BMW’s way since the 1980s. Subtract 5 miles an hour and you know how fast you’re going. It isn’t hard.
I find it hard to believe that BMWs in general read 5mph higher.

So you saying if I am going 5 mph the speedo is reading 10mph?

Or if I am going 40 mph it is saying I'm going 45mph?

Makes no sense.

I could see 5% higher... so reading 2.75 mph higher if actual speed is 55 mph etc.

So if I'm going 5 mph, I'm actually going 5.25 mph.
And if I'm going 40 mph... I'm actually going 42 mph. Etc.
