I don't think the frustration is with the XM, so much as it is with the questionable application of the M brand.
The XM is an interesting value proposition. I think it's probably the nearest offering to the Urus. But for M
sports car people it's a bit of a slap in the face. This isn't a problem for Porsche or Lamborghini since they already make specialized top-tier sports cars.
It's not self-fellating (that's actually kind of offensive), we just wish BMW perused a more purist sports car.
