You may want to inquire over in the 135 n54 section or over on e90post. Obviously different cars, but they will have plenty of discussion about the two downpipes.
I am interested to do some research myself as I think this may be my first modification. Leaning towards a catted dp though mainly for warranty/emissions reasons but obviously the catless gets more power.
