Thanks, I love the contrast with the light interior. I will let yall know over time how well the light-colored interior holds up. We were a little worried, but since this is going to be my moms commuter, it probably won't get much wear and tear.

Ok, first of all I would like to say that I have only driven the X3 on a test drive and I'm currently in Arizona, so I haven't gotten to play around with the car yet. However, I have had a lot of time with the Q5.
In my opinion, the Audi MMI is much more simple to use, but overall the interior of the Bimmer is just as good, leaps ahead of my 06 330i. Engine and driving experience much better than Q5, the I6 is a much more refined, driver's engine than the 3.2. Interior room in the X3 is significantly larger, at 6'3" I had plenty of legroom in the rear of the X3, and more headroom than the Q5.
I'm biased to a degree in that I own a BMW, but I would say both are strong competitors, but I prefer the X3 for the superior engine and drive than the Q5. When I am home again, I will spend more time with the tech on the X3 and let you all know what I think compared with the Q5. Also, one last thing. My mom had am 06 Rx 400h before, which was a fine car, well-built, reliable, but nothing exciting. We tested the new rx and Imo it was much worse than the old model. Both the X3 and Q5 are vastly superior to the Rx, and lexus' sales numbers show how much they're losing.
