The exact same thing happened to me a few years back when I had just gotten my E46, parked in the garage at Cocowalk and they took my "M3" logo from the back of the car. Bastards !!!! I still had my dealer tags on the thing. Atleast they left you the "3." Pandamonic is right, our "M" logos problably wound up on someone's Honda Civic or some old beat up 3 series.
