I just don't want highway drone and if I get that then I may have no option but to go aftermarket. I did resonator delete on a CLS63 AMG Mercedes that I used to have and it was amazing with no drone.
If all you want is a little more volume, instead of chopping up your exhaust (or getting a whole new cat back system), why not try something like this from CG Precision:

I didn't see anything on their site for the X7 (or any G-series cars for that matter), but it would not surprise me if this company is already working on products for G-series cars. So why not ask?

I was in the same boat with my F80 (I wanted a bit more volume) and this device fit the bill.
