Yeah they are pretty rare. I actually called Audi USA to find out how rare. Mine is 1 of only 72 manual S4 Avants shipped to the US for the '07 model year.
I love the 335 and if BMW would have brought the 335xi wagon to the states you would have seen me driving one of those instead. I had an e36 M3 a while back and still miss that car like crazy but I've grown to enjoy the practicality of AWD and the wagon. The S4 Avant was the best way to have my cake and eat it too.
