I know that we all get 4yrs/50,000 miles free maintenance (for US) on our 3 series car. This free maintenance also covers your wiper blade should it needs replacement. But long after the 4yrs/50,000 miles has expired, you will need to know how to replace the wiper and save yourself some money. As with any DIY, do it at your own risk.
