I drove an E92 M3 with DCT. It was fun, but there are things DCT can't do, at least not for me.

It won't go from 6th to 2nd on a mountain road while cruising and having a bit of spirited fun without going through every other gear.

It felt lurchy while in manual mode in traffic. Auto mode feels better, but then the M3 doesn't feel as special.

The DCT had some cool bits about it though too, the throttle blip on downshifts, the lack of down time between gears and the ability to be lazy and let the drive logic take control.

For me, I'll be getting a proper manual. If that means waiting, I'm cool with that. The $3900 CDN that DCT costs will end up going towards mods of some sort, or I'll just eat filet mignon a lot more often.
