This is actually quite an easy job with a hole saw. I helped a friend do it on his 2014 335xi. There is a dimple where you are to cut we chose to hold the new muffler up against the stock to be sure that would be the right place. Then cut the pipe removed the stock and clamped on the aftermarket.
If you search the F30 forum you should find other with pictures showing the dimple.
BTW his is a lease as well. We will just get a connector pipe to clamp the stock muffler back on.
