I would have never thought that either, but as a DD, the cupholder is a very simple feature many of us have gotten to rely on. If it were just a weekend vehicle or a track toy, then obviously not important. As a side note, we had an original Dodge Caravan, the vehicle which introduced the "cup holder" to the world.
