I'm sorry, but the e90 pop out ones are horrible. My wife's car has them and we instinctually grab our cups when making any kind of turn. Travel mugs only sit a couple inches down in them. The ones in my e85 Z4 at least were deeper. But condensation from cold cups drips on the power window controls below. (facepalm)
When driving in a convertible in the hot summer, you need to have water with you, and you need somewhere to put it.
