Yes, BMW did charge me for it. The purchase + install price ended up being more than I expected in the end. If you choose to buy it, I would suggest you find an independent shop that will agree to do it for a reasonable price. They should be able to quote you a ballpark price if you show them the pictures above. At least that way you know what your getting into.
