Final curtain call for the 1M: December 2011, after a 10 month production run (± 2700 1M's worldwide). Last 1M's will be delivered during the first months of 2012. Until further notice, no plans are currently known for a 2012 production run. A 2012 remains a speculative hypothetical, so IMHO it's better to play for keeps if you really want it. And as they're selling like hot cakes, your father should start inquiring at dealerships soon. Otherwise all hopes will be dashed to get his hands on a new one at MSRP in 2011 or early 2012 (otherwise, the wait starts for a second hand one or he might eventually be on the lookout for the M2, available in a couple of years from now).
