This is basically about the same as his 18x8.5'' et 42. I don't think it'll rub strut side. Someone that's not lowered have done more aggressive (et 35). Check the offset calculator.

Lower offset is fine, I am saying that if you get past the 38mm (38 and lower) you really will start to poke outside of fender. 40mm is very close to strutside on a 8" rim. To the point where a 235 probably won't fit so I am going to run a 225
