Big tip for most autocrossers...

One other thing I found to save both tire wear and prevent the tires from becoming too loose... Use a cheap garden sprayer with water in it to cool off your tires between runs on >80deg days. You'll prevent the tire compound from getting too hot. Hotter street tires become slippery when over hot, and they more easily grate away on the tarmac or (worse yet) on concrete when the rubber compound is too soft.

Let you tires heat up a bit for a couple of runs, but then spray them down after each run.

What you'll find is that as others start losing time on their last few runs, you'll be able to maintain and possibly (probably) knock off some time.

I used to think spraying the tires down was only good for R compounds, but it's most definitely not...
