If the unit is having trouble learning, it may also be helpful to try one of the secondary buttons on the original remote (Homelink told me they have a higher TX power) or replacing your batteries. Varying the distance also helps. If all else fails their customer service is one of the best I have experienced. They knew just how to fix the problem I was having.
