Its not the WORST thing I've ever seen but I thought the old X7 front end was quite handsome and now this looks like the front end doesn't really fit the overall shape. Its awkward looking. Also I see slapping a big long flat screen on the dash as a significant downgrade. HATE this trend (not just BMW). At least in the escalade they shaped it and styled it a bit.
