Tyres (tires) are the same or can be factory or dealer optioned to be the same?
1385 kg - 130 (man) vs 1485 kg - 135 (auto) website does not give figure for manual.
130 has 4 mm more front track width!
Next question?

I'm trying to account for why some review would claim the coupe is better than the hatch in corners. Since I don't know the Euro hatch by heart I was simply taking guesses as you should be able to tell by the question marks
The only differences I can think off are:
- Weight (Which is in the 130i's favor)
- Weight distribution (130i is apparently ~50:50 while 135i is 52.3:47.7). Perhaps a little extra weight over the front is helping to counter understeer? (I don't have enough good track experience to know the answer)
- Tires (all 135i's have 215F/245R. From what I can find on BMW UK's page all M-sport 130i's have 215F/225R and non-M-sport variants have 205's on all 4 corners.). I could easily see a magazine compare a non-sport 123d that has 205's to a 135i and then make some comment about the 135i having more grip. Yes,
you can get the same width tires on either version but we aren't talking about
you.
- What brand & model tires come from the factory on Euro hatches? This can make a huge difference in grip even on the same size tires.
