FWIW, I like having dedicated winter wheels and tires and have used the same wheels and tires on my last three cars without any problems. Bought them in 2011 and have used them on X6 5.0, 2014 X6M and 2017 X6M. The only issue I had with the 2017 X6M is that the pressure sensors were no longer working with the new model. I drive about 3.5K a winter so my tires must have about 30K on them and they can definitely go another 10-15K no problem. I don't love the idea of swapping tires only as I think it does increase the chance of the wheel getting damaged. Also, I'm sure it's been covered before but a smaller winter tire is much better and even a 21 is not great, so I am planning to either use my existing 19s set on the new X7 that I am getting or getting a new set of 20s.
