If you can afford a $75k~$80k car IN CASH, $10K is probably only a couple more months (or less) of earnings. If you finance and are paying $1500 per month on a car payment, what's another $200?
I stand by my statement that if you're already spending that kind of money on a car, step up and go for at least a 997S.
If you want to be seen driving a Porsche 911 and want to be able to say you drive a Porsche 911, the 997 base is the car for you.
