When running with just the shoe and not having a smart phone along, when you get back to sync with your phone it gives you; distance, time, how many steps, calories burned.

I haven't run with my phone yet, but that gives you some gait analysis and additional stats, mapping etcetera.

The shoe stats on their own was pretty accurate. The directions tell you and I observed that on a .33 mile section where the incline is 20% since my pace is slow that those parts of the run may not be tracked as running, but still think it counts those steps.

I had been a Brooks wearers exclusively for about 36 months or so, but these Under Armour HOVR running shoes seem extremely good. I was aware of UA having shoe issues and firing and hiring key design people and I think they are equal to anyone with these shoes and the reviews seem to suggest this.
